EDM Ltd, headquartered in Manchester, UK, has acquired Safety Training Systems, Inc. (STS), a US-based provider of custom training devices and simulation hardware. STS, established in 1978 and based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a supplier of cabin crew and military training devices with experience supporting prime contractors and airlines.
The acquisition expands EDM's footprint in North America and strengthens its ability to deliver end-to-end training solutions. STS's 80,000 sq. ft facility and expertise in fabrication, assembly and advanced manufacturing will augment EDM's existing UK operations, increasing production capacity and flexibility.
Both organisations have experience in aviation training devices, including cabin crew trainers, evacuation systems and military simulators. EDM believes its combined entity will be better positioned to support major aerospace and defence primes across a broader geographic footprint.
STS will continue to operate from its Tulsa facility while benefiting from EDM's global infrastructure and programme management capabilities.
