The U.S. Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) in San Diego, California awarded Alion Science and Technology a $24.6 million contract.

The 3-year contract, with two 1-year option periods, ordered training services for tactical afloat shipboard, ashore and submarine command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems.

“We are a trusted partner on the Navy’s enterprise tactical training solution, because we design with both the future and continuity in mind,” said. Gerry Decker, Alion Chief Growth Officer.

The work will spread across ships and land sites worldwide, and if all options are exercised, the contract will extend through September 2022 with a total value of $41.4 million.

Modernization is at the center of the training philosophy. Through Manpower, Personnel and Training (MPT) products, Alion will help to integrate emerging technologies like mobile technology, modeling and simulation, better equipping sailors in the future.

“As the Navy continues its commitment to readiness through training, we are honored to extend our partnership into an additional area of sailor training, using a similar rapid prototyping and immersive approach to help deliver unparalleled classrooms of the future,” said Decker.
