Thirteen NATO Allies, including Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Türkiye, and the United Kingdom, have agreed to develop a multinational simulated training capability under the Distributed Synthetic Training High Visibility Project (HVP).
The initiative aims to meet the growing need for multinational military training through a secure network of advanced virtual environments. By integrating existing national simulation systems, the project is designed to make cross-domain training more efficient, affordable, and quicker to organize and execute.
At the signing ceremony held at NATO Headquarters during the NATO Defence Ministers’ meeting, Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska said, “The project will prepare our troops for the dynamic and dangerous environment that we find ourselves in. It will help ensure we have the forces and warfighting readiness needed to defend the Alliance.”
Participating nations will collaborate with the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) on implementation. This includes creating a marketplace to align training needs and opportunities across member states.
The Distributed Synthetic Training HVP also supports greater interoperability within the Alliance and enhances the use of resources across participating nations. The project is open to NATO’s Indo-Pacific Partners, promoting wider cooperation in virtual training innovation and operational readiness.
