CAE has signed a subcontract with Lockheed Martin Canada to begin the implementation phase of the River-class destroyer program, supporting next-generation capabilities for the Royal Canadian Navy. Building on work during the design phase, CAE is developing training solutions for the ship’s communications, integrated bridge, and navigation systems. This includes training needs analysis, courseware development, and delivery of simulation-based training to prepare Royal Canadian Navy personnel for operational duties.

CAE is also providing human factors engineering input to inform the design of key spaces aboard the ships. Lockheed Martin Canada was awarded the implementation subcontract by prime contractor Irving Shipbuilding Inc. The collaboration leverages Canadian defence industry expertise, supporting national security, creating jobs, and fostering innovation in advanced naval technologies.
