The 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) concluded Quarterly Underway Amphibious Readiness Training 25.3 from May 28 to June 6, 2025, off the coast of Camp Pendleton.
This iteration of QUART focused on integrated amphibious warfare, bringing together elements of I Marine Expeditionary Force and U.S. 3rd Fleet. It included flight operations with UH-1Y, AH-1Z, and CH-53E helicopters, day and night ship-to-shore landings by Amphibious Combat Vehicles, and beach landing drills involving M777 howitzers transported by landing craft.
The 15th MEU established dual operations centers aboard Harpers Ferry and at Camp Pendleton to practice command and control flexibility. The exercise tested coordination between Marine and Navy units in varied conditions, simulating real-world combat operations.
Leadership from both services emphasized the importance of joint readiness and interoperability. QUART 25.3 demonstrated continued efforts to maintain proficiency in complex amphibious missions, reinforcing the capability to deploy and operate in challenging maritime environments.
