Vrgineers Inc. is debuting its Somnium VR1 Mixed Reality (MR) headset at the Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE) 2025. The headset combines mixed reality technology with full-scale jet-fighter cockpit replicas and has been developed with input from U.S. Air Force and Navy pilots.
The Somnium VR1 MR uses a high proportion of Taiwanese components and complies with relevant security and defense standards. In collaboration with Taiwan-based BKS Tech, Vrgineers has integrated hybrid cables to provide reliable data bandwidth for training applications.
Alice Rezková, Director of the Czech-Taiwanese Business Chamber, says that the project demonstrates mixed reality capabilities for defense training and highlights the potential of Czech–Taiwanese cooperation in aerospace and defense.
The headset aims to provide a high-fidelity, cost-efficient training solution to supplement traditional simulator access. Vrgineers invited media, defense professionals, and technology specialists to experience the headset at TADTE 2025 in Taipei.
