At Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, around 50 Soldiers from the Pennsylvania National Guard’s 108th Medical Company Area Support took part in a two-week training event aimed at preparing for future deployments. The exercise focused on validating the unit’s medical and operational capabilities in a field environment and concluded on July 19.
Throughout the five days in the field, the unit established a mobile medical facility and simulated both role one care—such as trauma treatment and resuscitation—and role two care, including advanced trauma management and emergency surgery. Nearly 100 simulated casualties were treated, with feedback provided by medical professionals.
The exercise also tested command and communication functions while reinforcing team cohesion. This marked the unit’s most extensive training in three years, combining months of preparation with hands-on experience in austere conditions.
