AET has renewed and expanded its partnership with Texas A&M University at Galveston, reinforcing support for the AET Tanker Simulation Lab. The facility, developed with AET’s input and funding, replicates the navigation bridge of a 113,000-dwt LNG dual-fuel Aframax tanker from the company’s fleet.

Featuring a 240° field of view and integrated navigation systems, it allows cadets to practise docking, ship-to-ship transfers, and restricted water navigation in a realistic, risk-free setting.

A new memorandum of understanding, signed in July 2025, underscores AET’s commitment to maritime education and its operational roots in Houston and Galveston. Leaders from both AET and Texas A&M Maritime Academy emphasized the importance of industry-backed training to prepare graduates for leadership roles in safe and efficient liquid cargo transport.
