The General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GEOSA) received a Gold Stevie Award in the Innovation in Professional Skills Development category for its Geospatial Virtual Reality Training Program. The award was presented during the 22nd International Business Awards ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal, which included more than 3,800 entries from 78 countries.

The program provides an interactive VR environment that allows trainees to develop geospatial skills and knowledge remotely, using VR headsets and control tools to simulate practical scenarios. It is part of the Authority’s broader efforts to advance national geospatial capabilities, enhance awareness, and foster innovation within the sector.

GEOSA’s recognition reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing development of geospatial infrastructure, enabling participation in international organizations and rapid progress in global geospatial indicators. The Authority also collaborates with universities and institutes to build national surveying and geospatial expertise.
