The fire department at NASA's Ames Research Center in California's Silicon Valley will conduct aircraft firefighting training at Moffett Federal Airfield from Tuesday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 11.
The training, scheduled daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. PDT, will use a propane-fueled aircraft fire simulator to prepare Ames firefighters for a range of realistic aircraft emergency scenarios.
The exercise is part of ongoing efforts to ensure Ames' first responders remain prepared to handle aircraft-related emergencies.
