General Motors Mexico has donated tools, furniture, and specialized machinery valued at approximately US$522,816 to the Technological and Polytechnic University of the Sierra de Guerrero, improving equipment in the school's engineering labs.
The donation will immediately support 270 students, with plans to eventually reach around 400. Paco Garza, President and CEO of GM Mexico, described the gift as part of the company's broader effort to support local communities, saying it would help students build skills that reflect current conditions in the automotive industry.
The handover took place at the GM Toluca Complex, with representatives from GM Mexico, the university, and the National Auto Parts Industry (INA) present. This marks the second phase of GM Mexico's ongoing support for the university.
