Jotne Connect, a subsidiary of Jotne Group based in Oslo, has established a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) unit aimed at advancing standards-based interoperability across Digital Twin, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) domains. The new unit will be led by Dr. Aditya Gupta, a researcher with experience in industrial and academic sectors.
The initiative builds on Jotne Connect’s history of using ISO 10303 (STEP) standards to deliver solutions for engineering data interoperability and long-term preservation in sectors such as aerospace, defence, and manufacturing.
The AI unit will support developments such as automated classification of engineering assets, predictive maintenance, AI-assisted validation, and enhanced model traceability. It also aims to expand the role of ISO 10303 into real-time digital twin integration, smart manufacturing, and federated engineering environments.
According to CEO Vilde Marie Sørensen, the integration of AI with open standards will help establish sustainable, interoperable digital engineering ecosystems.
