XCEL ITECH Sdn Bhd has delivered Malaysia's first collaborative Train Driving Simulator to Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, aimed at improving railway operator training and safety.
The KLAV27 simulator was handed over at Kompleks Rapid Rail Subang under the Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP), letting multiple trainees practise train operations together in a virtual environment before working on real railway systems.
The KLAV27 lets several operators train together, covering scenarios such as coordinated train movements, disruptions and emergency response.
The system recreates the 46.4-kilometre Kelana Jaya Line, including all 37 stations and one depot. The project involved Alstom Transport Systems Malaysia, the Hartasuma Consortium, Technology Depository Agency Berhad, Prasarana and XCEL ITECH, developed under the ICP initiative.
