Charity & Taylor has been appointed the official dealer for VASCO, the world’s first untethered virtual reality bridge simulator developed by Kilo Solutions. Announced at Seawork, the partnership introduces a new training method to the marine sector, which has been slower to adopt VR technologies, according to the company.
VASCO allows users to conduct bridge resource management and ColRegs training without relying on fixed infrastructure. Demonstrated at Seawork using Meta Quest Pro headsets, the system operates with cloud connectivity or as an offline unit, including VIAB (VASCO in a Box), which contains its own router and server for standalone use.
Already in use by the Royal Navy and U.S. Navy, VASCO is now being made available to the commercial maritime market. Charity & Taylor, part of the Aage Hempel Group, will support the system’s deployment through installation, training, and maintenance services for clients in the UK and beyond.
