Swedish telecommunications firm Ericsson has expanded its “Connect to Learn: Teaching with Technology” program in the Philippines to strengthen teachers’ digital skills. Partnering with DepEd Muntinlupa, Philippine Normal University, Qualcomm, and Smart Communications, the initiative addresses gaps in training highlighted by GSMA’s 2024 Future of Learning Report. Since 2022, it has equipped more than 1,700 teachers with ICT skills for more interactive and collaborative learning.

On September 2, the program’s second phase was launched, adding e-learning modules and VR simulations. Ericsson donated VR headsets, while Smart supplied connectivity tools to support access. Training will continue to cover core subjects such as English, math, and science.
