Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Maritex (MOLMAT), the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP), and Magsaysay Training Center (MTC) have partnered to establish a Dynamic Positioning (DP) Training Center in Mariveles, opening September 1, 2025. The facility will offer Nautical Institute-accredited courses for seafarers, engineers, and technical personnel, covering induction, simulator-based operations, sea time reduction, revalidation, and DP maintenance.
The center’s DP simulator matches equipment on MOL’s special vessels, providing realistic training for offshore wind power projects and other specialized maritime operations. This initiative supports the growing demand for skilled DP operators in the Philippines and Asia, contributing to workforce readiness for the expanding offshore renewable energy sector.
