The UAE Government has introduced the Chief AI Officers’ Training Programme to strengthen national capabilities in artificial intelligence and digital transformation. Led by the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications in partnership with the University of Birmingham in Dubai, the two-week program provides federal government officials with practical and academic training in AI governance, machine learning, and generative AI.

Participants also explore sector-specific use cases in healthcare, energy, cybersecurity, and government services. The curriculum addresses ethical and regulatory dimensions while promoting innovation and strategic thinking. Candidates were selected following Cabinet approval to formalize the Chief AI Officer role across federal ministries.

The initiative supports the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031 and the national “We the UAE 2031” vision, aiming to position the country as a global leader in AI integration and smart government operations.
