Jordan’s Ministry of Agriculture has launched a new virtual reality (VR) training initiative to enhance agricultural education. Integrated into field schools, the immersive platform uses high-resolution simulations to help farmers navigate realistic scenarios that mirror local challenges. By incorporating VR headsets, the system supports decision-making and critical thinking, while also enabling trainers to monitor individual progress and tailor instruction accordingly.

Designed for portability, the system can be deployed via mobile labs, making it accessible to remote and marginalized communities, particularly women and youth. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to apply artificial intelligence and digital tools in agriculture. Two systems have already been completed, with four more in development. The project is funded by the Ministry and developed in collaboration with the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB), reflecting the country’s commitment to digital transformation in rural sectors and vocational training programs.
