Following Brexit and the UK’s withdrawal from EASA, FTEJerez has continued to work with the UK authorities to remain approved by the UK CAA. In October 2021, the UK CAA certified FTE’s B737-800, A320 and Diamond DA42 simulators as an initial step prior to the final approval, which has now been granted.

FTEJerez can continue to train British students towards the issuance of both EASA and UK CAA licences. Oscar Sordo, FTEJerez CEO, mentioned: “FTEJerez has a strong British heritage and a long-lasting relationship with the UK CAA. Receiving this formal approval is an important step in order to confirm that any student choosing to train at FTEJerez will be able to graduate with both an EASA and UK CAA licence if they wish to do so, while also allowing us to continue working closely with our British airline partners”.

The approval covers the full scope of FTE’s training courses, from the Airline First Officer Programme to modular training, including MPL programmes such as the British Airways Cityflyer MAPS, which is currently assessing applicants with a view to commence training in Jerez for the successful candidates in March 2023.
