Jazz Aviation LP is continuing its commitment to Canada's current and future flight instructors with an enhanced agreement between the airline's Jazz Aviation Pathway Program (Jazz APP) and the Centre québécois de formation aéronautique (CQFA); the Cégep de Chicoutimi's School of Aviation flight program.
"The Jazz APP Instructor Pathway continues to encourage pilots to become instructors without it affecting their option to pursue a career as an airline pilot," explained Steve Linthwaite, vice president, Flight Operations, Jazz. "With an increasing demand for both English and French flight instructors, expanding this program to include respected French language academic institutions such as CQFA will help us continue to build a strong and inclusive future for the Canadian aviation industry."
Jazz APP is a program developed in 2007 to create a streamlined career path for the pilot profession in Canada. CQFA joined the Jazz APP in August 2016. This enhanced agreement with CQFA extends the Jazz APP opportunity to their top flight instructors. The instructors must be recommended by CQFA and meet comprehensive experience criteria in order to have an opportunity for employment with Jazz.
The industry-leading Jazz Aviation Pathways Program includes collaboration on training and curriculum to promote safety and professionalism, while providing up-to-date information on industry best practices. The Jazz APP is aimed at establishing a direct career path for qualifying graduates; including flight simulator evaluations, student scholarships, and the opportunity for top-performing graduates to transition to first officer positions at Jazz.
