According to a report by SNS Insider, the AI in aviation market is valued at $8.63 billion in 2025 and projected to reach $171.53 billion by 2033. Predictive maintenance is the largest use case, with airlines using AI to identify equipment failures before they occur, reduce downtime, and cut maintenance costs.

Machine learning enables predictive analytics for maintenance operations, while computer vision supports automated aircraft inspections. North America leads the market due to high airline spending on predictive maintenance, while Asia Pacific is growing fastest as airlines in China, India, Japan, and South Korea adopt AI-enabled maintenance technologies.

In training, Airbus launched an AI-enabled A320 simulator in March 2025, and Boeing introduced a virtual training platform in November 2025 using Microsoft Azure for customizable pilot training.
