Announced During APATS: MPS Qualifies Airbus Training Device for India

MPS has qualified an Airbus A320 Flight Training Device (FTD) with collimated visual to DGCA Level 6 in India. The qualification allows a significant amount of training to be shifted from the airline's Full Flight Simulator (FFS) to the FTD.

This is the first device of its kind in India qualified to this level, opening training capacity that has not previously been available in the country.

Introducing high-fidelity fixed-base training devices in India supports task-to-tool training at a lower cost than other simulator options, helping reduce training costs and barriers to entry.

MPS CEO Philip Adrian said: "This groundbreaking development for MPS in India is an especially important one. The Indian aviation industry is thriving and is one of the fastest growing markets in the world. This high demand, however, also places a strain on the need for pilots.
