Thirty-three students graduated from the airBaltic Pilot Academy, receiving their commercial pilot licenses after completing the full-time airline transport pilot program. This ceremony marks the largest in the academy’s history.

Vilmantas Vaclovas Mažonas, CEO of airBaltic Training, said, “Many of them are now preparing to take the next steps in their training, paving way to join the airBaltic team. The success of any airline relies on having skilled and highly trained professionals, and we are committed to fostering such talent.”

Graduates represented countries including Austria, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Romania, and Sweden. Currently, 141 students are enrolled at the academy, primarily from the Baltic countries, with others from EU nations such as Denmark, Germany, France, Finland, Spain, and Italy. More than 10% of students are female.

Since its establishment, 164 graduates have joined airBaltic, mostly as First Officers, with several serving as training instructors. Four alumni have completed Captain upgrades, representing the first Pilot Academy graduates to serve as Captains at the airline, highlighting the clear career pathway from cadet to Captain.

The academy’s cadet sponsorship program provides financing for students after passing airBaltic’s pilot assessment and joining the airline. Training capabilities have expanded with a second Airbus A220 full-flight simulator, increasing capacity to train pilots and maintain qualifications while supporting fleet growth and professional development.
