AXIS Flight Simulation has launched the AXIS AI Debriefing Station, an automated platform for pilot training and assessment. The system monitors pilot performance during training and checks, recognising flight manoeuvres, identifying the pilot flying, and analysing aircraft parameters in real time.
The platform can be tailored to the specific needs of Approved Training Organisations, supporting Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) and applying type-, SOP-, and organisation-specific evaluation criteria. By standardising assessments across instructors and aircraft types, the system ensures consistent evaluation of trainees.
After each session, trainees and instructors receive detailed data-driven evaluations through an online platform, showing performance by competencies, manoeuvres, and observable behaviours. Automatically generated insights remove the need for manual tagging and reports, helping trainees track progress over time.
For instructors, the system reduces workload by capturing tasks that would normally require intensive monitoring, allowing them to focus on human factors and decision-making. It also helps identify performance issues, compare progress across trainees, and provide tailored recommendations. For training organisations, the platform offers a unified approach to assessment, supports oversight of training quality, and facilitates CBTA implementation.
Marcell Surányi, Product Manager at AXIS Flight Simulation, said: “Our goal was to create a tool that empowers instructors and strengthens training organisations with reliable, objective insights. The AXIS AI Debriefing Station reduces workload, increases standardisation and ensures trainees receive the full benefit of every session. By automating data capture and analysis, instructors can focus their attention on shaping pilot performance in the cockpit.”
