Tecnam has formed a contract with the Finnish Aviation Academy (FINAA) for the delivery of ten P2010TDI aircraft. The acquisition follows a public procurement process that began in late 2024, with Tecnam selected from three candidates to support FINAA’s pilot training mission focused on efficiency, technology, and sustainability.

“These will be the first ten Tecnam aircraft in our fleet, and they will replace our legacy four seat aircraft,” said Ari Tolonen, Managing Director and Accountable Manager of the Finnish Aviation Academy. “We are eagerly looking forward to this cooperation and the arrival of the new aircraft. This is a huge step for our future.”

Based in Pori and owned by the Finnish government since 1985, FINAA trains 80 to 100 professional pilot students each year as Finland’s largest Approved Training Organization (ATO). The new Tecnam aircraft are intended to update the academy’s fleet with more efficient, lower-emission models.

The Tecnam P2010TDI features the Continental CD-170 engine, MT Propeller, and Garmin avionics. It offers low emissions and fuel efficiency while supporting IFR training on a single-engine platform to reduce operational costs.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in March 2026, with the full fleet aimed at expanding FINAA’s training capabilities in the coming years.
