Airbus Flight Academy has entered into a partnership agreement with Sevenair Academy during the ongoing EATS event, positioning Portugal as a key training hub and expanding Airbus’s ab initio footprint in Europe.
The agreement signed with one of Europe’s largest flight training organisations aims to expand the Airbus Flight Academy network and preparing the next generation of aviation professionals. The latest Airbus Global Services Forecast projects a need for 633,000 new pilots over the next 20 years with substantial demand in Europe alone for 119,000 pilots.
Maïa Kuilenberg, VP Training Services at Airbus, said the agreement leverages Airbus’ decades of expertise in flight safety, instructor development, and curriculum standardisation. ‘This partnership ensures the highest training quality. Sevenair Academy will benefit from Airbus’s ongoing support and innovations, enhancing instructors’ skills and broadening training opportunities for both airline partners and self-sponsored aspiring pilots.’
The Airbus training network currently includes 21 locations worldwide.
The addition of Sevenair Academy is a significant step in growing Airbus’ ab initio footprint. Carlos Amaro, CEO of Sevenair Academy said the partnership with Airbus reinforced the company’s commitment to world-class pilot training. “By combining Airbus’ high standards with our four decades of experience in ab initio training and our state-of-the-art facilities and fleet in Ponte de Sor, Portugal, we are setting a new benchmark in aviation education and preparing cadets to excel in a dynamic global industry.”
Sevenair‘s first group of Royal Brunei Airlines cadets begin their Airbus training this week.
Sevenair, which is currently training 200 cadets, will progressively increase its annual training capacity, delivering modular and integrated pilot training programmes.
Airbus and Sevenair will be exhibiting at The European Aviation Training Summit (EATS) in Cascais, Portugal, from 5- 6 November at booth 304 and 206. Stop by to learn more.
