Skyborne Airline Academy has just received its largest intake of cadets from the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program, with 41 aspiring pilots signing Letters of Intent at a ceremony in Gurgaon, India, on October 14, 2025.

The intake reflects IndiGo’s expansion and Skyborne’s role in producing airline-ready cadets. Nearly 20% of the latest cohort are female. Since the program began in 2019, women have comprised more than 15% of Skyborne’s IndiGo cadets, compared with a global average of 5.8%.

The new recruits will begin training at Skyborne’s Vero Beach, Florida base before returning to India for license conversion and type rating. After completing the program, they will join IndiGo as A320 Junior First Officers.

Industry forecasts project a global need for 660,000 new pilots over the next 20 years, with South Asia accounting for 45,000. Skyborne’s collaboration with IndiGo provides a steady pipeline of trained cadets to meet this demand.

Applications are open for the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program with Skyborne.
