AXIS Flight Simulation (AXIS), a provider of advanced training solutions, has achieved FAA Level D qualification for a Bombardier Challenger CL350 full-flight simulator (FFS) developed for LOFT, a California-based pilot training facility, marking another step in AXIS' North American expansion.

An AXIS customer since 2024, LOFT will primarily use the FFS for initial type ratings, recurrent training, Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) and area familiarisation. The specifications chosen by LOFT for the CL350 FFS include a Van Halteren motion system and RSi XT6 visual system, with a 200x45 field of view (FOV), the Collins Pro Line 21 Advanced avionics system, and the optional extra of steep approach capability.

Christian Theuermann, Executive Board Member at AXIS, says: "Our qualification for LOFT marks AXIS' fourth training device in the US. This region represents a notable growth area for AXIS, as an increasing number of aircraft operators and training organisations explore advanced flight training solutions for students and pilots."

In addition to LOFT's device, AXIS has also qualified a FAA Level D CL350 FFS in Ohio for Vista America, and in Austria for Austrian Aviation Academy under EASA.
