Transavia has introduced the AirVR Door Trainer, a virtual reality and robotic training system for cabin crew, marking a world first in airline crew training. The launch took place at Hangar 5 in Schiphol-East, with the system designed to replicate the weight, resistance, and mechanics of aircraft doors across multiple aircraft types.

The trainer combines a fully virtual cabin environment with a robotic arm, allowing crews to practice realistic scenarios while receiving immediate feedback. The system supports emergency simulations, quality assurance, and flexible training schedules, enabling trainees to progress at their own pace.

Developed by Danish company AirVR, the platform aligns with Transavia’s strategy to improve efficiency and learning outcomes in crew training. The Door Trainer will be fully operational in the airline’s training programs by early 2026, offering crews an innovative, immersive, and practical learning experience.
