Indra has signed a multi‑year framework agreement with NAV CANADA to become the air navigation service provider’s technology supplier for next‑generation training simulation solutions.
The partnership forms a core component of NAV CANADA’s Operational Training Modernization Program (OTMP), which aims to standardize and modernize simulation across its nationwide air traffic services training network.
Under the agreement, NAV CANADA will deploy Micro Nav’s BEST simulation platform, enabling a comprehensive, data‑driven transformation of its training environment. Once implemented, the platform will support training for both current and future Air Traffic Services Professionals.
The next‑generation solution includes AI‑enabled speech recognition, high‑fidelity 3D tower visualizations, scenario‑ and data‑creation tools, and connectivity with operational systems for training and validation. Designed for flexibility, the platform gives training professionals full control over configuration, data management, and usage requirements.
NAV CANADA says the technology will strengthen its ability to deliver scalable, resilient training and support long‑term workforce development objectives.
Indra EVP for ATM Victor Martínez said the agreement advances the company’s North American growth and expands its collaboration with NAV CANADA into advanced ATC simulation. NAV CANADA CTO David Sheppard described the BEST platform as a foundation for nationwide training modernisation, while CHRO Diana Kelly highlighted its role in enhancing how students learn and how training teams collaborate. Micro Nav Managing Director Greg Pile said the agreement represents a milestone for both organizations.
The agreement also reinforces Indra’s ongoing relationship with NAV CANADA through the iTEC Collaboration, which unites leading ANSPs in developing advanced, standardized air traffic management solutions.
