Maxar Intelligence has partnered with Anduril Industries to provide geospatial intelligence for the U.S. Army’s Soldier-Borne Mission Command Architecture (SBMC-A) program. The system, under development by Anduril, is designed to deliver mixed-reality capabilities by overlaying battlefield intelligence directly into a soldier’s field of view during combat and training.
The SBMC-A program requires accurate, near real-time 3D terrain data to serve as the foundation for command-and-control networks. Maxar will deliver this through its software-enabled 3D mapping solutions, integrating into Anduril’s Lattice AI-powered software. This will provide soldiers with updated terrain awareness and threat information to improve decision-making and survivability in contested environments.
As part of the effort, Maxar and Anduril will deliver a prototype to the Army covering 14 initial locations, with future expansion planned. The collaboration builds on Maxar’s ongoing role in the Army’s One World Terrain program, where it has provided 3D mapping since 2019.
