The DiSTI Corporation announced the release of GL Studio 8.4, updating its graphical user interface development tools with enhancements for cybersecurity, performance, and embedded development. The update introduces cybersecurity testing and reports, an automatic polygon optimizer, improvements for GL Studio ES, and a cross-platform video integration solution.
GL Studio 8.4 provides Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) reporting by default across all products, aligning with Executive Order 14028 and supporting cybersecurity compliance and traceability standards for aerospace and defense applications. The automatic polygon optimizer reduces unnecessary fill drawing to improve rendering performance and runtime speed.
GL Studio ES includes workflow and usability improvements, simplifying deployment, licensing, documentation, and build processes for automotive clusters and in-vehicle infotainment systems. The new GlsMultimedia package enables cross-platform integration of video and audio, supporting both local and network-based streaming through a customizable GStreamer render pipeline.
Additional enhancements include method overloading and virtual method overrides in the editor, improved .gls file load performance, searchable logs, resizable editor windows, 64-bit Raspberry Pi builds, WebGL debugging support, enhanced shapefile rendering in GlsMapToolkit, brighter visual feedback in GuiTestFramework, and compatibility updates for Ubuntu 24.04 while retiring Windows 10 and Visual Studio 2015 support.
GL Studio 8.4 is designed to support developers in creating responsive, secure, and reliable human-machine interfaces across automotive, aerospace, and defense applications.
