Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM) inaugurated a new simulation suite equipped with Wärtsilä’s advanced training technologies. The upgraded facility features dual-fuel engine room simulators, 270-degree navigation bridges, and extended reality tools, enabling immersive, realistic maritime training. Seafarers now train for future fuel operations, such as methanol and ammonia, and gain experience with digitalised and decarbonised vessel systems.

ALAM also became the first Asia-Pacific institution to join Wärtsilä’s MASTERS program, a global network promoting innovation in maritime training and research.

Located in Melaka and training over 15,000 professionals since 1976, ALAM has worked with Wärtsilä since 2006. The new facility enhances hands-on learning for navigation, engine operations, cargo handling, and emergency response.
