The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has advanced to full deployment of 20 VirTra training simulators after successful field testing and validation at its depot in Regina, Saskatchewan.

The 20 systems were originally purchased with revenue recognized in 2023 and 2024. Following approval and certification, they are now cleared for formal use across the RCMP. The milestone also makes them eligible for future dissemination to other federal, provincial, and municipal agencies in Canada.

During a week of testing at the RCMP training depot, VirTra’s new S&W 5946 Recoil Kit (RK) and Advanced Skills Magazines (ASM) received approval from trainers and recruits. ASM units simulate reloads, malfunctions, and handling skills, while the recoil kits provide lifelike recoil in standard service weapons.

Multiple officer groups trained on the system, reporting performance consistent with real-world readiness. Following validation, the RCMP confirmed the simulators for full operational deployment.

John Givens, Chairman and CEO of VirTra, stated: “Our goal is to deliver not just advanced technology, but reliable, effective tools that build officer confidence and skill."

The RCMP deployment underscores the adoption of simulator-based training within law enforcement and supports broader integration of advanced training technologies.
