Operator XR, the US subsidiary of Australia’s xReality Group, has secured a contract worth up to $5.7 million to supply its OP-2 tactical training system to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

The agreement includes a $4.3 million initial order for OP-2 software licenses, virtual reality (VR) training systems, implementation, training, and two years of technical support. An additional three years of support, valued at $1.4 million, is optional.

OP-2 provides immersive, customizable training scenarios covering skills such as crisis intervention, active shooter response, and hostage rescue. The system supports real-time scenario editing and includes a library of VR-ready environments.

Texas DPS, one of the largest US law enforcement agencies, will deploy the technology statewide to support highway patrol, investigations, and public safety operations.
