The University of South Florida (USF) has launched the world’s first undergraduate concentration in Health Care Simulation Operations. Designed to meet a growing need for trained simulation professionals, the program blends health sciences, engineering, IT, and instructional design. Housed within the College of Public Health and in partnership with USF’s CAMLS simulation center, the program offers hands-on experience through a 120-hour internship and targeted coursework in simulation technology and management.

This new concentration prepares students for careers in hospitals, academic institutions, government agencies, and the private sector. Its launch follows a successful pilot that saw 100% job placement for participants. USF leaders say the initiative not only enhances student career readiness but also addresses national workforce shortages in simulation-based health care training — an industry projected to grow to $17.4 billion globally by 2030.
