Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation is using rFpro’s AV elevate simulation platform to demonstrate its next-generation camera sensor technologies for ADAS and autonomous vehicle applications before physical prototypes are produced. This approach builds on a technical collaboration established in 2023, which focused on integrating high-fidelity sensor models into rFpro’s software to enhance virtual sensor development and reduce dependence on real-world data.

“AV elevate has been a critical tool in showcasing our new technologies to the industry,” said Tomoki Seita, General Manager of Sony’s Automotive Strategy Department. He noted that the platform allows earlier demonstration of camera technologies and is supported by local technical teams in Japan and Europe.

AV elevate provides a simulation environment for tuning, training, and testing ADAS and AV perception systems. The platform generates synthetic training data and supports closed-loop testing of the complete technology stack, helping to improve safety, efficiency, and reduce development costs.

“They’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with image sensor technology, and AV elevate gives them the capability to demonstrate this earlier and more cost-effectively. This is exactly the kind of innovation we built AV elevate to support,” said Matt Daley, Technical Director at rFpro.
