A virtual reality training platform specializing in baseball and softball has acquired a company known for its swing sensor technology to deliver a more integrated training experience. The deal, with undisclosed terms, will merge immersive pitch recognition and swing decision training with precise tracking of bat path and biomechanics, aiming to give players and coaches a fuller picture of performance.
The VR platform’s existing tools already analyze batter movement, while the sensor technology is used by professional teams, college programs, and youth leagues. The acquisition will also support ongoing development of sensor products for other sports like golf.
Most of the acquired company's team is expected to join the new parent company, with both sides highlighting their shared goal of helping athletes make real-time decisions and providing coaches with objective insights to guide development across all levels of play.
