Volocopter signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Euro Flight Test (EFT) to launch specialized eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) training courses. The collaboration aims to create training standards for pilots operating eVTOL aircraft.

The partnership will include ground-based familiarization, remote-controlled drone training, pilot flight tests, and additional modules to prepare pilots for the unique aspects of eVTOL operations.

"As the urban air mobility industry continues to grow, it is crucial to have well-trained pilots who are familiar with the intricacies of eVTOL aircraft," said David Bausek, CTO at Volocopter. "This collaboration will help set the standard for eVTOL pilot training worldwide."

Euro Flight Test brings extensive experience in flight test and pilot education. "Our partnership with Volocopter marks a significant milestone in the aviation industry," said Peter Hemmert, Managing Director at EFT. "Together, we will provide pilots with the knowledge and skills they need to safely and effectively operate eVTOL aircraft, paving the way for the future of urban air mobility."

The training programs are expected to begin in 2025, positioning both organizations at the forefront of pilot preparation for emerging aircraft technologies.
