UK-based line maintenance and training provider Storm Aviation has recently introduced a new course for the A320 NEO (LEAP-1A) Part-147 Differences (covering both practical and theoretical elements) to its portfolio. On successful completion of the course, students will be issued UK Part-147 certification from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). This allows current holders of the A320 CEO (CFM56 or V2500) type certification to add the A320 NEO (LEAP-1A) to their licence. The new Differences course is four days long, with the theory section accounting for 2.5 days and the practical for 1.5 days. It will run every week between Monday and Thursday at both London Gatwick and London Stansted airports from 11 September 2017 to April 2018. Storm Aviation has also added the A320 NEO (PW1100G) to its extensive range of training, with more courses due to be introduced as the operator base and aircraft access increases. This will be available as a differences course with a similar duration to the LEAP-1A. Currently Storm Aviation is the only UK Part-147 training organisation holding the Form 11 approval for both of the A320 NEO engine types.
