MASA SWORD, from MASA Group, is continuing to grow its user base to train military commanders from Brazil to New Zealand.

The Colombian Army and the Colombian Superior War College, ESDEGUE, first adopted the wargame solution in 2014. That year, it was used to evaluate reaction times and coordination with between the military and the oil company Ecopetrol in the event of an attack on its pipelines.

After a successful test of the scenario, at-the-time MASA Group CEO and President Juan Pablo Torres said, "Our partnership with the ESDEGUE illustrates and confirms SWORD’s vast potential throughout South America and other regions in the world with similar needs.”

The Colombian Army recently renewed the software maintenance and extended it with additional licenses. The company expects other customers to follow suit soon, alongside other countries potentially joining the fold in 2018.

At I/ITSEC in Orlando, Florida this November, the company will showcase its simulation developments. Alongside SWORD, MASA will be part of the VIKING18 demo exercise with the Brazilian Army.

The company is also reinforcing its position in the civil security market by delivering training to crises managers around the world, including in Brazil, Le Codah in France and to NATO’s Centre of Excellence.

MASA will also be participating at the Special Equipment Exhibition & Conference for Anti-Terrorism (SEECAT) in Japan with Realviz this month to demonstrate the application of SWORD for counter-terrorism training.
