The U.S. Army has awarded Sandtable a five-year, $38 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to support research and development of agentic artificial intelligence technologies. The agreement, managed by Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground, Adelphi, will assist the Army Research Laboratory within the Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM ARL).

The contract allows for flexible task orders aimed at advancing AI systems capable of autonomous and semi-autonomous operation in complex environments. Sandtable will focus on agentic AI capabilities such as reasoning, learning, planning, and execution, emphasizing practical deployment for real-world military use.

According to Sandtable CEO Brian Hamilton, the company plans to help develop infrastructure and methods for transitioning these capabilities to front-line forces. The effort supports broader Army modernization goals and aligns with ongoing efforts to integrate advanced AI into operational decision-making and field tactics. The contract is scheduled to run through May 13, 2030.
