Smith Myers has introduced a fully integrated airborne simulation system designed to support search and rescue (SAR) training. The system is developed in collaboration with JD2E, CarteNav, and Teledyne FLIR. At the core of the demonstration is JD2E’s Deployable Mission Operator Station (DMOS), a mobile, multi-role simulation platform used to prepare aircrew for a variety of operations, including SAR, border surveillance, maritime patrol, and disaster relief.
The integrated solution features Smith Myers’ ARTEMIS mobile phone detection system, CarteNav’s AIMS-ISR mission management software, and Teledyne FLIR’s Star SAFIRE airborne sensors. The combined technologies include capabilities such as handset geolocation, augmented reality mapping, and automated sensor cueing.
The system has already been used to train over 100 aircrew. Smith Myers also announced a partnership with AgustaWestland Aviation Services to make the ARTEMIS system available to operators across the Middle East and North Africa region.
