New Simulators Enhance Test Pilot Training

National Test Pilot School (NTPS) has chosen VIPER WING to deliver three unclassified, fourth-generation fighter cockpits and a dedicated Instructor Station. Each cockpit is configured with VIPER WING's latest 270-degree, high-resolution external visual displays and accompanying XR headsets. The system offers efficient selection between Mixed Reality or projected environment, depending on specific training objectives.

VIPER WING crew was responsible for installation, set-up, and integration of the networked environment on site at the NTPS campus in Mojave, California.

Flight Level Engineering will be responsible to manage and operate the NTPS simulator lab.
NTPS and FLE, working together under a joint partnership, will utilize the new flight simulators to bridge the gap between academic training in the classroom and actual flight training in the cockpit, allowing students to explore, practice, and gain greater insight surrounding the flight test techniques associated with aircraft flight controls and systems training.
