The US Marine Corps has awarded XR Training a prototype contract, valued up to $8 million, to develop a new maintenance training suite for the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV). Announced in April, the Other Transaction Authority (OTA) contract tasks XR Training and its consortium partners with delivering the prototype within nine months. This follows the fielding of 81 “Wave Warrior” driver simulators in 2024, which are now integrated into USMC training programs.
The new system, called the ACV Suite of Training Systems (STS), includes an Electronic Classroom (EC), three Diagnostic Task Trainers (DTTs), and one Part Task Trainer (PTT). XR Training stated that the platform will integrate the ACV’s digital twin with its operational and maintenance data for immersive training. Consortium members include Theory Studios, Enludio, Talon Simulations, Bubo Defense, RedShred, Direct Dimensions, and Hatch Exhibits, each contributing specialized components to the training ecosystem.
