Tulmar Safety Systems has announced an exclusive partnership with Essex Industries to supply Protective Breathing Equipment (PBE) training hoods for its customers worldwide. In addition to manufacturing the Essex PBE training hoods, Tulmar will handle sales and global after-market support.
The Essex PBE provides crewmembers with ocular, head and respiratory protection during emergency conditions in an aircraft cabin. Recognized for their safe design, Essex PBE units are installed in the majority of US airlines and a number of carriers throughout the world.
Training hoods allow airline personnel to practice donning the hood prior to a smoke emergency. Tulmar designs and manufactures realistic training hoods that feel and operate like the actual PBE.
"This partnership developed from the need to serve our airline customers with products that provide the most realistic emergency training experience possible," said Patrick Phillips, vice president Sales and Marketing for Tulmar.
