DEWALT has selected Kenya as the base for its African expansion, unveiling its latest cordless and efficient tools—including the POWERSTACK battery and POWERSHIFT system—at a launch event in Nairobi. Stanley Black & Decker leadership said the move reflects a long-term commitment to innovation and skills development across the continent.
The initiative includes training partnerships with institutions such as De Paul Technical Training Centre, where students receive hands-on instruction in woodworking and carpentry. DEWALT also partnered with BuildHer, a nonprofit training 300 women annually in technical construction skills, to promote gender inclusion in the industry.
Company executives stressed that DEWALT’s Africa strategy goes beyond products. It focuses on developing a future-ready workforce and supporting inclusive growth in the construction sector. The brand’s expansion aims to combine next-generation tools with workforce development to reshape the industry throughout the region.
