Q&D Construction launched the N.L. Dianda Skills Academy and training center in Mustang to help address Northern Nevada’s long-standing skilled labor shortage. The company spent over $2 million in 2024 on training efforts and developed internal programs led by experienced or retired Q&D employees.
Apprentices receive paid, hands-on training in areas such as excavation, safety, and equipment use. The program includes simulation training, English classes, and quarterly feedback meetings with leadership. The academy is named in honor of Q&D co-founder Norm Dianda and operates on the former site of Wild West Motorsports Park.
