19 June 2026   Dim Jones   The UK's defence funding shortfall is expected to force the Ministry of Defence to cut day-to-day spending, with training, exercises and readiness activities likely to bear much of the impact as major equipment programmes remain difficult to reduce. Defence leaders warn that reduced training opportunities and participation in international exercises could weaken military preparedness and damage the UK's standing with allies.
